Data Conversion Specialist Job Title: Data Conversion Specialist Location: Southfield, MI Position Type: Full-time, Salaried Position Overview The Data Conversion Specialist is primarily responsible for customer database conversions. The ideal candidate will have experience with technical trouble shooting, debugging, and developing innovative solutions to complex problems. This position requires an individual with exacting standards and great attention to detail, who also possesses excellent communication skills and has the ability to effectively collaborate with team members. Knowledge of AIMS or other CMMS software functions and an understanding of Clinical Engineering and Facilities Maintenance processes is a plus. Key Responsibilities • Ability to analyze and understand the client’s database and transfer the data contained therein to Phoenix’ AIMS.NET Asset management software using Map Force software and MS SQL Server. • Interaction with cross-functional teams to resolve issue/queries with respect to any data conversion. • Communicating project status and milestone achievement with the Project Manager and customer. • Document the requirements of data transfer for the customer. • Work with the customer to validate that the data transferred into AIMS from the legacy system is correct and meets their expectations. • Update and improve the current existing VB and C# code to facilitate more expeditious data transfer from legacy systems to the AIMS software. • Continuously monitor database performance and use Code to implement improvements as required. • Responsible for Database optimization by proper indexing, profiling, and database access code in stored procedures. • Modification of the customers’ data and legacy database to match the validations of the AIMS software. • Maintain backups and restore databases on multiple servers as a part of Phoenix Disaster Recovery Plan and emergency procedures. • Write and test run new programming codes in order to ensure functionality is accurately operational for data conversions. • Depending on project/clients this individual may have to work after hours or weekends Required Qualifications and Skills • BS in Computer Science or related degree, and 1–3 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. • 1–3 years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server (SQL V2008+) writing stored procedures, creating ad-hoc queries, designing and understanding database schemas and analyzing databases of various types and complexities. • Strong analytical, problem solving abilities and decision making required to handle data issues pre and post conversion. • Experience with relational database design, analysis and implementation. • Experience with data ETL. Preferred Skills • Experience with Microsoft Azure. • Knowledge of MSSQL, Azure portal is a plus • Proficient with Microsoft Office. • Experience with non-relational database analysis as well as modern relational databases. • Knowledge of various reporting tools (i.e., SSRS, Crystal Reports).
