Overview: The Operations Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing the day-to-day operations of our industrial distribution center. This position requires a blend of leadership, strategic planning, and hands-on involvement to ensure the efficient flow of products through the distribution process. Responsibilities: Supervision and Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of warehouse staff, including supervisors, pickers, packers, and administrative personnel. Establish performance goals, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide coaching and feedback to ensure high productivity and adherence to safety protocols. Inventory and Warehouse Management: Oversee inventory control processes, including receiving, storage, cycle counting, and inventory reconciliation. Manage warehouse operations, including order fulfillment to ensure accuracy, efficiency and safety. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements within the distribution center. Implement best practices and LEAN principles to streamline workflows, reduce waste, and enhance operational effectiveness. Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and company policies. Conduct regular safety inspections, and meetings to promote a culture of safety awareness. Implement corrective actions as needed. Customer Service Excellence: Work closely with the sales and customer service teams to fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently. Address customer concerns promptly to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. Quality Assurance Implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and quality of products being delivered, adhering to industry standards and regulations. Performance Reporting: Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor operational performance. Prepare regular reports on KPI’s such as inventory turns, order accuracy and on time delivery. Use these metrics to drive informed decision-making for improvement. Qualifications: Proven experience in operations management within an industrial distribution or warehouse environment. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and engage a diverse team. Solid understanding of inventory management principles and logistics processes. Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software tools. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Effective communication skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
