About this job
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Delivering food &/or supplies to the Building 6 Cafeteria and meeting rooms and returning/cleaning up supplies at the appropriate time using appropriate tools/personnel carrier.
- Handling and washing of dishes ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 10 lbs.
- Stocking deliveries in the Building 3 Cafeteria storage and cooler areas.
- Miscellaneous tasks such as mopping the floor and cleaning the freezer.
- Learning how to record inventory
- Performing support services as required
- Other duties as assigned such as operating the cash register or food preparation.
To select this job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have the following:
- Ability to become a certified driver for cafeteria vehicles (you will be trained on premises).
- Ability to meet daily deadlines while maintaining teamwork.
- Ability to follow specific verbal instructions and procedures.
- Ability to read and understand job related materials such as packing lists, menus, and notes.
- Obtaining your food safety certification within the first 60 days, if you do not already have the certification (company will cover the cost)
Relevant Work Experience:
- Food Service experience preferred.
MAJOR PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Standing: Most tasks are performed in a standing position with intermittent walking.
- Lifting: Frequent lifting of items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Walking: Walking a moderate distance (<1/8 mile).
- Carrying: Frequent carrying of items ranging in weight from 10 lbs. to 30 lbs.
- Pushing: Pushing of food carts to various locations.
- Pulling: Pulling of food carts to various locations.
- Bending: Some bending is involved when stocking shelves or handling sanitation duties.
- Reaching: Some reaching is involved when stocking shelves or handling sanitation
