POSITION SUMMARY:

The Leasing Agent is responsible for assisting the Property Managers in performing all duties and functions required for efficient leasing of Costello Properties. A Leasing Agent acts as the community’s sales representative whose primary duties are to greet clients, to present professionally the community and properly secure lease agreements from qualified persons. This is a very service-oriented position that strives to make current residents feel welcome in their community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Leasing:

  1. Perform showings of units to prospective tenants.
  2. Secure, distribute and maintain applications for long-term leases
  3. Assist applicants with preparation of applications, when necessary
  4. Assist verifying all applicant information as directed
  5. Responsible for maintaining accurate leasing records and applications that are pending approval
  6. Verify with manager that units are ready for showing
  7. Prepare traffic report

Resident Relations:

  1. Monitor community to ensure that company policies and procedures are followed to maintain standards for safety, quality, and overall company and tenant satisfaction
  2. Assists with annual recertification paperwork when directed.
  3. Inspect grounds and facility routinely to determine repair needs.

Administrative:

  1. Observe given office hours
  2. Responsible for taking phone calls and logging these calls
  3. Responsible for relaying work orders, message, appointments, etc. to the manager
  4. Be available to perform site/file reviews with financing authority
  5. Monitor complex to ensure that company policies and procedures are followed to maintain standards for safety, quality and overall company and tenant satisfaction.
  6. Provide a high level of service to prospective tenants, tenants, vendors, and coworkers.
  7. Respond to all emails and phone calls in a timely manner
  8. Observe all company personnel, quality, and safety policies.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Working knowledge of property management and marked ability to analyze and respond to site problems
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Working knowledge of fair housing regulations
  • Considerable skill in problem solving and conflict resolution
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality in regards to information and situations
  • Excellent computer skills required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary education preferred, High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must have Valid Driver’s License and Automobile Insurance
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check
