Adult Heart Transplant (Surgical) - Advanced Practice Provider

The Cardiac & Vascular Institute at Memorial Healthcare System is seeking a motivated and dynamic Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its growing team.

• The selected candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of advanced heart failure (AHF) specialists to manage and care for patients requiring transplant surgery and advanced heart failure therapies including VAD, IMPELLA, IABP, and ECMO.
• The ideal candidate will have clinical experience with AHF patients requiring devices and transplant surgery.  
• Candidates must have a national Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification, or Physician Assistant Certification.
• A BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross and Florida license must be obtained by date of hire.
• Schedule requirements are four, 10-hour shifts with weekend call, as needed.

• In addition to a large general cardiology practice, the MCVI includes all relevant subspecialties including electrophysiology, preventative and interventional cardiology, vascular, congenital heart disease, imaging, and genetics.
• The cardiothoracic surgical program has also earned and maintained the distinguished three-star rating from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.
• Joe DiMaggio Childrens Hospital, a 232-bed freestanding facility and part of the Memorial Healthcare System, has an established and highly recognized pediatric heart transplant program.
• The MCVI performed the first adult heart transplant in Broward County and has an active VAD and Adult Heart Transplant program since 2014.
• Memorial has the first accredited adult congenital heart program in the State of Florida and is the only ELSO Gold designated ECMO program in South Florida.
