Position Summary:Provides quality patient care when performing mammography imaging services and related procedures by applying x-ray energy to demonstrate breast anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention while adhering to radiation safety principles.
Shift: 3days/12 hours
Responsibilities:*Essential Functions*
* Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to quality care.
* Complies with FDA and MQSA regulatory requirements.
* Adheres to Orlando Health mission statements and strategic imperatives.
* Assessesthe patient’s physical condition and age specific needs.
* Provides instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
* Performs proper patient identification, acquires patient’s clinical history, and assures that the information is accurately documented.
* Positions patient, equipment, associated devices and manipulates technical factors, to achieve desired high-quality images for interpretation.
* Assesses diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, patient identification, and ensures that all breast anatomy is demonstrated according to MQSA/ACR guidelines.
* Applies principles of radiation safety to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
* Requires utilization of Radiology Information System to accurately show arrival and completion of exams, correct coding of procedures done, and retrieval of reports.
* Utilizes sterile technique for sterile procedures in accordance with OH policy and training. Administers medical aid as required for any emergency.
* Comprehends and complies with Quality Control standards and participates in all Quality Control tasks.
* Applies appropriate standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases.
* Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
* Ensures safety of all customers.
* Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
* Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies, department guidelines and education requirements.
*Other Related Functions*
* Follows established imaging processing procedures and techniques.
* Maintains a clean organized work area.
* Maintains well stocked rooms.
* Assures customer satisfaction.
* Prioritizes workload to manage multiple priorities.
Qualifications:*Education/Training*
* Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
* Must have and maintain CME points as mandated by MQSA.
*Licensure/Certification*
* Valid Florida state license.
* Valid Radiology registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
* BLS/Healthcare Provider certification required.
