About this job

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Report to work on time in the proper attire.
•Clocks in and out according to posted Banquet schedule or supervisor's instructions.
•Reports to Banquet Captain to receive assignments.
•Uses the daily function sheet to check the banquet event order (BEOs) for specific details and/or floor plans.
•Uses walkie-talkie radio and checks out keys.
•Picks up all clean linen from Housekeeping and takes to the linen Banquet storage.
•Separates and treats all stained or damaged linens and turns them in to the supervisor.
•Handles all china carefully to avoid breakage or injury to yourself and others.
•Lifts all objects by bending knees, not using your back.
•Makes sure that all Banquet rooms are cleaned and vacuumed before and after every function.
•Close all sheers on all windows after every function.
•For each function room being used, set proper lighting and air temperature.
•For each function room not being used, make sure that we are not wasting electricity.
•Theme and decorate all buffets/coffee set-ups.
•Place centerpieces on all breakfast, lunch and /or dinner functions.
•Serves guests with utmost professionalism and care.
•Provides exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicates in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner at all times. Maintains a professional work environment with supervisors and staff.
•Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
•Attends all necessary training meetings.
•Assist in other projects, as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily.
•Must be 21 years of age.
•Excellent customer service/communication skills.
•Know or is able to learn sequence of service, cocktail ingredients.
•Available to work required schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
•Must present a well-groomed and professional appearance.
•Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues.
•Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees, and customers.
•Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees.
•Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
•Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid gaming license.
•Work nights, weekends and holidays as required.

•Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust.
•Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues.
•Must be able to reach above and below the shoulder, grip small items (i.e., pens, money, garnishes), bend, stoop and twist while serving cocktails, stand and walk for up to four hours wearing one inch (minimum height) heels.
•Able to work at a fast pace in often crowded/noisy environment.
•Must have the physical ability to work with extreme weather as well as the ability to lift 20 lbs., to squat, stand or bend repeatedly.
•Must be able to stand, walk, and move through all areas of the casino.
•Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees, and members of the business community in all situations.
