Printing Machine Operator
Supervises: None
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Position Summary:
At Michigan Highway Signs, the role of the Printing Machine Operator is an essential part of producing aluminum signing to be installed in road construction projects. We look to our operators to know how to maintain and operate their printing machines. Operators are also expected to prepare their work area and prepare the final products for transportation. Our operators should lead by example and uphold the mission and vision of Michigan Highway
Signs.
Essential Job Functions:
An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all the following essential functions. These examples only include some of the duties which the employee may be expected to perform. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
• Operates various types of printing machines including manual tables automatic screen printers.
• Inspects random production samples to evaluate quality of prints.
• Maintains inventory of supplies needed to operate printing machines.
• Troubleshoots issues with printing machines and make basic repairs.
• Performs routine maintenance on printing machines.
• Maintains a clean area around work space.
• Retrieve and prepare needed aluminum for printing operations.
• Unload and store aluminum as it arrives to the worksite.
• Properly package and store finished products for transportation.
• Drafts and submits reports for daily production totals.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Minimum Qualifications:

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One to three years of related experience preferred, but not required. One the job training provided.
• Driver's License - Required
• At Michigan Highway's discretion, may consider an alternative combination of formal education and work experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Effective communications skills.
• Ability to operate or to quickly learn to operate various printing machines and ancillary mechanisms.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Works well in a team environment where situations and demands change daily.
