Direct hire (permanent) opportunity 100% onsite Job Description The Mechanical Maintenance Superintendent provides leadership, direction and technical expertise to maintain the reliability of all plant mechanical equipment. This position has complete responsibility of all Mechanical supervision, planning and craftspeople. The Mechanical Maintenance Superintendent ensures the workforce can safely and efficiently perform all tasks related to preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of the facility mechanical equipment. The top three responsibilities of this role are to ensure the workforce is safe, well trained to perform the work efficiently, and that all craftspeople use precision equipment care practices aimed at continuously improving the reliability of the equipment. This position plays a critical role in accomplishing the operating objectives aimed at improving year over year reliability. This role is also integral in the development and execution of the mill’s repair and capital plan. Qualifications Bachelor’s and/or Technical Degree and Training required. Minimum five (5) years’ experience in manufacturing maintenance or in an operations environment. Strong leadership skills: Acts as a change agent to help lead organizational change. Mechanical Reliability and precision maintenance knowledge. Works to create a culture of executing best practices in reliability. Good communications skills with the ability to educate and train all levels of the organization. Collaborative working style, with a natural ability to forge effective relationships with peers and other key managers, often in the context of competing interests. Knowledgeable in the maintenance of Pumps, Gearboxes, Conveyors, Material Handling Equipment, Heavy Equipment, Cranes, Paper Machine Rolls, Bearing Installations and specific knowledge of Paper, Pulp and/ or Power manufacturing is very beneficial. Demonstrable success in the implementation of improvement processes related to predictive and preventative maintenance programs. Understands effective maintenance planning, scheduling and execution processes. (Understands proper maintenance and reliability workflow). Knows how to plan and execute outages. Can effectively deal with ambiguity and the changing needs of many customers. (Internal and External) Experience managing successfully and collaboratively in a union environment. Experienced at workforce development and training programs. (Apprentice or otherwise) Has the ability to break down barriers that are slowing or stopping progress for improvement and change. Works diligently for year over year improvement in Mechanical related unscheduled maintenance downtime Effectively manages and measures progress with the use of KPI’s Works diligently to reduce reliability incidents and puts sustainable systems in place to improve Mechanical reliability. #M1
