FCS Financial is a member of the largest agriculture lending cooperative in the United States today. FCS is seeking a proactive, team player, and collaborative individual. We are looking for an individual with specialized skills in dimensional data modeling, establishing data pipelines, and modern data architecture with knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements related to data management.

Data Platform Development, Deployment, and Utilization

Data Pipeline Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines to support data processing, transformation, and storage.
  • Collaborate with business units, subject matter experts, data analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and implement data pipelines.

Data Architecture

  • Plan, create, and maintain a modern data architecture in a systematic manner, which aligns with business requirements and strategies.
  • Design and implement a medallion architecture, schemas, and data models for efficient storage and retrieval of structured and unstructured data.
  • Optimize and tune system performance to ensure high throughput and low latency.
  • Plan and implement robust system and data security within the data architecture.

Data Integration

  • Integrate data from various sources, both internal and external, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
  • Facilitate real-time data streaming and batch processing to support timely and accurate data updates.

Infrastructure Management

  • Manage the data infrastructure to optimize performance of storage, pipeline, retrieval, and data science business capabilities.
  • Implement best practices for data security, privacy, and compliance.

Reporting and Analytics

  • Manage reporting and analytics capabilities.
  • Build data models to support data use cases, reporting, and analytics.
  • Assist in the configuration, development, and coordination of dashboards and reports, including complex reports that have been modeled on multiple data sources within the data estate.

  • Participate in the execution of data governance activities with other data stakeholders and stewards including data cataloguing, data quality, master data management, and metadata management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business and data analysts and applications administrators, to understand business requirements, deliver effective data solutions, and to identify opportunities for data-driven innovation and transformation.

Required Skills

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 2 years experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role
  • 3 years experience with both reporting and analytics tools and techniques, such as data visualization, complex report, and data modelling
  • Familiarity with machine learning, and predictive modeling concepts and frameworks
  • Experience in the financial services industry preferred

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • 2+ years of Python or Java development experience
  • 2+ years of SQL experience (No-SQL and DAX experience is a plus)
  • 4+ years of experience with schema design and dimensional data modeling
  • Experience with data processing frameworks and technologies such as Apache Spark, Azure Data Factory, and Databricks
  • Knowledge of data modeling, Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes, and data warehousing concepts
  • Experience utilizing cloud platforms for storing, processing, and accessing bulk data
  • Working experience with other programming languages, such as Scala
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge in analytical skills and ability to turn data into insights and intelligence that drive business value
  • Excellent business acumen and interpersonal skills; able to work across business lines at and work toward common goals
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements related to data management
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to implement a framework for information and analytics governance
  • Project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
