Lead PreK Teacher

Next Generation is looking for a Lead PreK Teacher for ourNorthern campus. Our teachers are responsible for maintaining a cohesive teaching team, assisting with the coordination of the curriculum, and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. Teachers must understand children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development in order to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. The Lead PreK Teacher must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children, effectively work with co-teachers, and resolve parental concerns.

Duties

• Provide coverage in the classroom maintaining compliance with teacher/child ratios as directed by the supervisor
• Supervise and monitor children's indoor and outdoor activities
• Keep records of children's progress, routines, and interests and relaying needed information to parents
• Assist with curriculum planning and preparing for daily activities
• Assist in preparing food and serving meals
• Assist with completion of daily cleaning checklists, start/end of day duties
• Maintain a clean and sterile environment

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED, and significant college credit in early childhood education or related field of study. CDA or 6 hours of ECE credit
• Associate's Degree in early childhood education or related field of study with a minimum of 30 credits in ECE. - preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of experience - preferred
• Strong communications skills
• Motivated and dependable
• Ability to work as a team
• Passion for outdoor learning
• Passion for working with young children
