PROJECT MANAGER JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for developing initial plans, setting budgets, supervising project activities, and communicating achievements to key partners on projects that include construction of civil infrastructure (canalization, ditches, manholes, small foundations, etc.), fiber and electrical installations, installation and commissioning of ITS equipment (CCTV, radio, communications, etc.). Project Manager will focus on leading, managing, and develop strategies for the execution of these projects, coordinating the company's resources, managing suppliers and subcontractors, being responsible for fulfilling the obligations with the end customer, scope, deadlines, certifications, claims, payments, etc.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Schedules, assigns, performs, and supervises projects; directs and coordinates plan design and preparation, cost estimate development, and specification preparation; participates in the development and design of projects.
  • Performs, supervises, and participates in the analysis and review of design studies prepared by both in-house staff as well as professional consultants; prepares recommendations for the consideration of professional and administrative superiors and committees.
  • Oversees the development and preparation of designs and plans for projects; oversees preparation of specifications, assesses project costs; generally responsible for overall design and construction management of projects.
  • Interprets plans and specifications; approves design changes in the course of construction; reviews contractor's change orders and payment requests, and generally responsible for overall construction administration of projects.
  • Reviews plans, specifications and cost estimates prepared by professional and sub-professional personnel..
  • Conducts and supervises project personnel and subcontractors.
  • Participates in the selection of subcontractors, including contract negotiations, as required.
  • Must effectively and positively represent SICE, Inc. in delivering and performing work.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTS

  • This position requires jobsite visits such as on and around roadways, under bridges, and in active construction zones.

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • 4 year engineering degree or equivalent technical training and related experience.
  • AS or BS in Engineering, Construction Management or Environmental Science preferred

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 5 years similar construction engineering experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
  • Experience with electronics/computers/networking.
  • Excellent computer skills (CAD, MS PROJECT, EXCEL, WORD, etc).
  • Experience with state Department of Transportation Experience is a plus.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Engineering Degree required.
  • Proficient computer/office skills (EXCEL, WORD, etc).
  • Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
  • Must pass a pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Test
  • Must demonstrate eligibility to work in U.S.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license is a requirement for this job.
