We are seeking a talented and friendly Sales Counselor to provide service excellence to Calder Woods residence. We know it's our associates at Calder Woods - and their passion - that set us apart as a caring, giving place, to enjoy work. We are looking to add smiling faces to make sure Residence enjoy their experiences.

Our Unique 5 STARS service:

  • Effectively communicate community's retirement programs; increase sales to meet established goals and prospect lead base by using a variety of contacts.
  • Conduct community tours for future residents and other visitors; communicate with appropriate team members to assist with community openings and transfers.
  • Respond, receive and make telephone calls to community inquiries, providing information, and scheduling appointments with future residents and/or their families.
  • Conduct appointments on a flexible schedule, often meeting prospects outside regular business hours that are convenient for them. Conduct home visits to prospects as needed.
  • Coordinate with insurance and Business Office to identify benefits and provide clinical indication for continued stay.
  • Support and represent Buckner at special events, activities, and other assigned functions.
  • Assist in creating and updating community brochures, program fliers, and event invitations; create and publish prospect newsletter.
  • Submit articles and special interest stories to Buckner's Communications Department for internal publications and website updates.
  • Perform special assignments, projects, and other duties as required.

As a 5 STARS associate you:

  • Bachelor's Degree in communications, marketing, or other related field of study preferred. A minimum of 1-3 years prior related experience with hospital or retirement community marketing, sales, and/or admissions required.
  • A strong desire to work and serve seniors. Empathy and emotional intelligence are required.
  • Requires high level of proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite. Recent computer training or computer experience preferred. Word processing and spreadsheet experience required. Excellent aptitude for using other office equipment such as copy machines, fax machines, typewriters, and calculators.
  • Requires job holder to work nights and weekends as needed to meet business needs.
  • Requires ability to travel to various geographic locations, both domestic and international, and some overnight stays. Requires ability to obtain and maintain the necessary documentation to travel by air and to rent vehicles.

What You'll Bring to the Team
To be successful in this role and a great addition to our team we need you to come with the following:

  • Two years of demonstrated successful sales experience or public relations experience, preferably in the Senior Housing industry.
  • Strong sales management experience in Senior Living.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience successfully supervising other team members.
  • A strong ability to relate to seniors and demonstrated learning track to better understand their housing and amenities needs.
  • You are self-disciplined, driven, demonstrate initiative, maintain confidentiality, competitive, attentive to details, persistent, and personable.
  • You work successfully within a team and actively contribute to attainment of community goals.
  • Demonstrated success in a sales environment.

Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the amazing qualifications and experiences listed above, if we had our say, we would also look for:

  • Bachelor's Degree in communications, marketing, or other related fields of study required. A minimum of 3 years prior related experience working in real estate, hospitality, healthcare, or senior living organization preferred. Prior related experience in sales or marketing required.
  • Current proficient-level experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Proficient ability to create professional documents using Microsoft Office software. Proficient ability to create complex Excel spreadsheets using formulas and pivot tables required.
  • You adjust well to working a flexible schedule to be available to potential and new residents during some evenings, weekends, and or holidays as needed to meet business needs.
  • Professionally work under pressure and remain flexible as priorities change; ability to effectively orally and in writing and speak in front of small to large groups.
  • You excel at time management and meeting multiple deadlines by maintaining a high level of organization.
  • You have a strong sense of diplomacy, emotional intelligence, and demonstrated success in developing strong collaborative relationships with organization peers and outside colleagues.
  • You relate positively, influentially, and sensitively to individuals in a multicultural organization.
  • You have a successful record for closing sales.
