About the Boys & Girls Club of the Black Hills

The Boys & Girls Club of the Black Hills is a well-established non-profit organization dedicated to providing a safe and positive environment for young individuals across the Black Hills. We are locationed in Hill City, Lead-Deadwood, and Hot Springs. Our mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the executive team to develop and implement comprehensive resource development strategies aligned with the organization's objectives.
  • Identify and cultivate potential donors, sponsors, and community partners to support the organization's programs and operations.
  • Create compelling proposals, presentations, and grant applications to secure funding from individuals, corporations, foundations, and government agencies.
  • Manage relationships with existing donors, ensuring effective stewardship and regular communication to strengthen their commitment to the organization.
  • Coordinate fundraising events, campaigns, and other initiatives to generate funds and promote the mission of the Boys & Girls Club of the Black Hills.
  • Conduct research on current trends, fundraising best practices, and funding opportunities to continuously refine resource development strategies.
  • Collaborate with program staff to gather data, stories, and other relevant information needed for grant applications and reports.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of resource development initiatives, highlighting successes, challenges, and areas for improvement.
  • Build and maintain a robust donor database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions and contributions.
  • Represent the Boys & Girls Club of the Black Hills at community events, networking functions, and meetings with potential donors and partners.

Qualifications

  • A passion for the mission and vision of the Boys & Girls Club of the Black Hills.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in fundraising, resource development, or sales.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in using fundraising software and database management systems.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends for events and meetings.
