SUMMARY

Smuttynose Restaurant in Hampton, NH is looking to add to their Front of House team! We are a full-service restaurant and bar with an outside patio that has music all summer located on the Smuttynose Brewery campus. If you have a big smile, out-going personality, passion for great beer and drive to be part of a winning team then this is the job for you. This is our community. We want our guests to feel welcome, have great food and beer and want to come back for more!! As the Host you are the first person they see when they walk in and the last person they see when they leave. It will be your responsibility and it should be your desire to leave a positive lasting impression.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• SMILE: Greet incoming and departing guests warmly with a genuine smile and eye contact; escort them to assigned dining area; present menus; announce the waiter's name
• Manage the flow of guests into the dining and bar areas, provide accurate wait times to incoming guest and monitor a waiting list
• Answer incoming calls to the restaurant and provide appropriate service
• Observant to our guests' needs throughout their dining experience to ensure they receive exceptional service
• Help the server staff by setting and clearing tables; replenishing water; serving beverages as needed or requested
• Tend to special guest needs and requests
• Comprehension knowledge of our menu and beer offerings in order to ensure our guests are well informed
• Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing any related tasks as needed

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Must be upbeat, outgoing and positive
• Appetite for learning about great food and beer
• Passion for providing extraordinary service
• Must be able to assist our guests and possess great guest relations skills
• Responsible and trustworthy
• A minimum of one-year experience in the restaurant industry is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate
• Neat appearance
• Must be able to stand or walk during entire shift
• Ability to work effectively within a team
• Night and weekend availability is a must!
