Position Details:

The math department consists of 11 full time faculty members teaching a comprehensive curriculum of 21 courses ranging from developmental through the calculus sequence and differential equations.

Responsibilities:

This is a part-time faculty position. Expectations for this position include teaching one or more college-level or developmental math courses during daytime hours or evenings (non-peak times) on the Kilgore or Longview Campus. These courses could be taught in a hybrid format (partially face to face and partially on-line) and will require the use of instructional technology in and out of the classroom. Math faculty members teach and supervise all learning experiences and evaluate student performance in the classroom.

Minimum Qualifications:

For developmental courses, a bachelor’s degree or higher is required. For college level courses, a master’s degree or higher with a minimum of eighteen graduate hours in Mathematics is required. Preference will be given to applicants with college teaching experience. Candidates for this position should be proficient in the use of technology, have a mastery of mathematics, and have a commitment to excellence in teaching.

Salary Range & Fringe Benefits:
  • Salary for adjunct faculty members is based upon level of education and range from $1,800 per 3-hour course for a master's degree to $2,000 per 3-hour course for a doctorate.
