Job Description
The Senior Accountant will participate in a wide variety of accounting functions to include general ledger, cost accounting, budget/forecasting, reporting and analysis.
Responsibilities: Senior Accountant
· Coordinates accounting functions with team members and ensures sound accounting practices are followed.
· Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly and annual margin/variance reporting by product, customer and warehouse.
· Coordinates with operations to ensure accuracy of overall Physical Inventory and related audits.
· Maintains and reconciles Fixed Assets schedules.
· Analyze product design, raw materials and manufacturing methods to determine effects on cost for both new product quotes and existing product engineering changes.
· Variance analysis and review of cost allocation assumptions and rates.
· Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of the monthly close, including the preparation of monthly journal entries.
· Assist in assessing internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas.
· Analyze historical and current financial data to understand the company’s financial status.
· Prepares financial analyses and reports as requested.
· Maintains and reconciles balance sheet and other general ledger accounts as requested.
· Assists with annual audit preparations and reporting.
· Investigates and resolves audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
· Contributes to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
Requirements: Senior Accountant
· Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
· 3+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
· Working knowledge of tax laws and GAAP.
· Strong financial analysis skills and attention to detail
· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Strong organizational and stress management skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel.
· Proficiency in Infor Syteline a plus.
· Ability to work with little to no supervision.
