Job Title: Data Entry and Shipping/Receiving Associate
Overview: We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Data Entry and Shipping/Receiving Associate. This position involves a dynamic combination of data entry responsibilities along with shipping and receiving tasks, including operating a forklift. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and possess strong multitasking abilities to effectively manage both aspects of the role.
Responsibilities:
- Data Entry:
- Accurately input and maintain data into computer systems and databases.
- Verify and update information to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Organize and manage electronic files and documents.
- Assist with data analysis and report generation as needed.
- Shipping and Receiving:
- Receive incoming shipments and verify contents against packing slips or purchase orders.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including picking, packing, and labeling items.
- Ensure proper packaging and documentation for domestic and international shipments.
- Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and track shipments using designated software.
- Operate a forklift to load and unload trucks, as well as move materials within the warehouse.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while operating forklift and handling materials.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics, supply chain management, or related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in data entry, preferably in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving procedures, including knowledge of shipping documentation (e.g., bills of lading, and commercial invoices).
- Valid forklift operator certification and demonstrated proficiency in operating a forklift safely.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data entry software.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with colleagues, vendors, and carriers.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, up to 50 pounds, and perform physical tasks associated with shipping and receiving duties.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
