Barista/Cashier/Food Runner

Position Overview: We are seeking a versatile and energetic individual to join our team as a Cashier/Barista at our Espresso Bar. This role is pivotal in providing exceptional customer service, handling transactions, and crafting delicious coffee beverages for our patrons. Responsibilities:

1. Customer Service:

   • Welcome customers with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
   • Assist customers in making menu selections and provide recommendations based on their preferences.
   • Ensure that customers have an enjoyable experience by providing prompt and attentive service.

2. Cash Handling:

   • Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using our POS system.
   • Accept cash, credit/debit cards, and other forms of payment.
   • Calculate and return correct change to customers.
   • Maintain cash register drawer and reconcile cash transactions at the end of each shift.

3. Barista Duties:

   • Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, including espresso drinks, drip coffee, and specialty drinks.
   • Steam and froth milk to create creamy and velvety textures for lattes, cappuccinos, and more.
   • Ensure that coffee equipment is clean and well-maintained, including espresso machines, grinders, and steam wands.
   • Follow recipes and brewing techniques to consistently deliver high-quality beverages to our customers.

4. Order Management:

   • Take customer orders for beverages and food items and input them into the POS system.
   • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure that food orders are prepared accurately and delivered to customers in a timely manner.
   • Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, and other supplies and notify management when stock is low.

5. Cleanliness and Organization:

   • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cashier station, coffee bar, and dining area.
   • Clean and sanitize coffee equipment and utensils regularly.
   • Assist with general cleaning duties, including wiping down tables, sweeping floors, and emptying trash receptacles.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a cashier or barista role is preferred but not required.
• Passion for coffee and dedication to providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong multitasking abilities and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to learn and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities quickly.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
