Description

Provides management coordination with the Healthcare Training Manager as well as supervisory operations for the training component of the Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) training offered at the Noble Training Facility (NTF).

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manages course managers, resident instructors, sub-contractors, and support staff assigned to Resident and Non-Resident Training.
  • Collaborates with the Healthcare Training Manager to select, interview, and hire employees and contract staff.
  • Provides written documentation of the issues and recommended action for personnel file.
  • Supervise procurement processes to include requests for supplies, materials, and services to support a large training facility and related operations.
  • Conduct needs assessments to determine requirements for the purchase of goods or services to support the training mission.
  • Plans and conducts weekly course manager meetings to ensure timely communication and resolution of issues within the Training Department.
  • Reviews instructor qualification rosters and initiates communication with course managers regarding changes as indicated.
  • Communicates with Centralized Scheduling as needed to resolve conflicts related to instructor assignment.
  • Works closely with course managers to coordinate and ensure technical accuracy of course delivery.
  • Supports and directs cross-training of instructional staff to maximize instructor resources and the overall training experience for student responders.
  • Teaches lecture/practice exercise within area of expertise. Maintains knowledge base as a subject matter expert in discipline.
  • Works closely with the Quality Management Office to ensure an adequate instructor pool to meet training delivery requests. Develops, reviews, and revises policies pertaining to training delivery.
  • Reviews and analyzes course outcomes to include weekly AARs, ongoing QA/QC of course, and annual curriculum reviews.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in at least one of the following areas of healthcare: emergency/critical care nursing, emergency/critical care paramedicine, emergency/critical care respiratory therapy, or as a physician assistant in the specialty of emergency/critical care.
  • Functional knowledge of the federal response plan/NIMS.
  • Perform detailed tasks under time constraints. 
  • Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule. 
  • Ability to work with customer representatives at different organizational levels.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, written, and oral skills, including the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Possess a valid state driver’s license.
  • Due to Federal Contract Regulations, U. S. citizenship is required.
  • Must have an accepted form of government-issued ID compliant with the Real ID Act
  • Must submit to and obtain final suitability by successful completion of a pre-placement screening consisting of background check, financial institutions/credit bureau check, and disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in nursing (BSN) or emergency medical services (BSEMS) , respiratory therapy, or physician assistant studies, or equivalent degree from a regionally accredited college or university OR an Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in Nursing (ADN) or emergency medical services (AASEMS), respiratory therapy or equivalent degree from a regionally accredited college or university AND a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a related field such as healthcare or adult education/training.
  • 2+ years of experience providing education to adult students in the health professions (nursing, EMS, RT, PA, etc.).
  • Proficient in Question mark and experienced in instructor scheduling.
  • Experienced as a clinical educator and can obtain certification as a USDHS instructor.

Education & Experience:

  • Requires Bachelors Degree and 4 – 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 – 6 years of prior relevant experience.

Pay Range:Pay Range $61,750.00 - $111,625.00
