Job description

The position of Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting, service, repair and maintenance of equipment and machinery in a safe and efficient manner in either a Keystone Clearwater location, customer job site or via phone.

STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS:

Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and/or abilities. To perform this job successfully, the applicant will possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently.

Education/Qualifications:

Essential:

  1. High school diploma or GED required.
  2. 1-3+ years of diesel engine diagnosis, repair, and maintenance
  3. Previous on-site repairs experience

Desirable:

  1. Experience servicing Caterpillar and/or John Deere engines, Pioneer, Godwin and Cornell pumps, McElroy Fusion Machines and Caterpillar construction equipment.
  2. Provide standard tools to perform the above functions.
  3. Construction, Oil & Gas field or Industrial engine experience.

Requirements/Skills:

Essential:

  1. Ability to work safely, preventing damage to equipment, tools and work areas and utilize stop work authority to prevent potentially damaging or dangerous situations.
  2. Ability to safely operate company provided service vehicle and follow established driver safety and compliance guidelines.
  3. Knowledge of diesel engines, truck repairs, mechanical devices, centrifugal pumps, and equipment maintenance.
  4. Proficiency with MS outlook email and general computer skills
  5. Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks with competing priorities in a fast pace environment.
  6. Proven track record of establishing and maintaining healthy working relationships in permanent and temporary work groups.
  7. Willing to work on-call rotations including weekdays and weekends as scheduled for after-hours emergencies.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages repair parts within service vehicles and storage areas where the Company’s pumps, valves, pipe, fittings, tools, and machinery are staged or operated.
  • Performs repairs and preventative maintenance on heavy equipment such as, but not limited to: 1) Pioneer, Godwin, Cornell diesel and electric pumps; 2) McElroy Fusion Machines; 3) Tier 3 & 4 Industrial Engines: John Deere, Caterpillar, Deutz, Kohler 4) Pick-up Trucks; 5) Trailers 6) Generators; 7) Light Plants, 8) Valves and fittings; 9) power tools; and other equipment.
  • Familiarity with maintenance and repair procedures for dozers, loaders, forklifts; and telehandlers and general construction equipment.
  • Performs preventative maintenance procedures per the manufacture’s specifications.
  • Orders parts and arranges for delivery or pick up as required.
  • Orders fluids/filters needed to service equipment, pumps and machinery.
  • Schedules warranty work and routine maintenance and inspections for vehicles and company machinery as needed.
  • Operates equipment, as required.
  • Completes necessary work orders and paperwork for all maintenance activities using computerized aids.
  • Trains company employees on equipment operation and proficiency procedures.
  • Conducts other operational assignments as may be assigned by the company management.
  • Maintain a clean driving motor vehicle record and adhere to company fleet policies.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

May manage subordinate employees or contractors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
