Description
We are an established but growing custom thermoplastics compounding company looking for leadership and management of the quality lab. Responsible for ensuring that quality program policies, plans, standards and requirements are met at the facility. Also responsible for product research and development, as well as ensuring required regulatory compliance is adhered to. Interfaces routinely with all plant operations (engineering, manufacturing, sales/marketing), customers and suppliers.
Responsibilities
· Assure quality requirements are adequately defined at all functional levels to permit appropriate quality planning and verification of compliance.
- Identify, develop and implement new methods of quality management and systems, and audit existing systems to meet standards, ISO 9001, and other customer requirements.
- Provide quality-oriented leadership in achieving site quality objectives. Communicate with customers to provide comprehensive responses and technical assistance regarding quality systems and/or products.
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance activities.
- Assist in new product research and development formulation.
- Maintain and develop systems to plan, implement and track quality systems and processes.
- Maintain the highest degree of customer service, throughput, quality, cost reduction and people productivity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related technical field; or demonstrated experience and competency in related technical field.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Minimum of five years applicable experience in a thermoplastics manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Experience with formulating thermoplastic compounds and color matching experience is preferred.
- Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts.
- Knowledge of and experience with ISO 9001 procedures.
- Knowledge and experience with statistical improvement methods, and corrective action development experience.
- Managerial experience with a thermoplastics compounding manufacturer, with demonstrated ability to provide leadership and motivation to employees.
