Digital Editor

An American Image Sharing and Social Media Service is looking for a contract REMOTE Digital Content Editor.

Contract: 12 Months

Location: Remote

Pay: $35-50/ hourly depending on experience

We’re looking for an experienced editor to develop content for a global educational site. In this role, you’ll be responsible for writing and publishing web pages and social posts. You’ll work closely with and support the content team, in addition to partnering with teams across product, design and more to help inform and inspire people about creating content..

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Scope and write new content pages and blog posts, balancing product, brand, and SEO requirements.
• Update and optimize evergreen site content.
• Pitch, develop and craft social content that educates and engages our audience.
• Use web and social data and insights to understand what’s performing and apply your learnings to help guide future content.
• Build, QA and publish content with our CMS and help with training and documentation.
• Support the international content teams with site content updates and troubleshooting.

REQUIREMENTS

• 4-6 years of digital editorial or content strategy/writing experience, including social.
• You’re a detail-oriented writer with experience writing across different brand voices.
• You’re able to quickly pick up a brand’s voice and understand the way the tone and voice are expressed across the brand.
• You’re great at both short-form and long-form copy—experience with educational content is a plus.
• You can maintain a high degree of accuracy while adapting quickly to new information and new processes, and thrive in ambiguous environments.
• You’re someone who can manage multiple projects, keep to deadlines and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Skilled with CMS, SEO and web analytics.
• Excellent critical thinking, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive, creative and curious, with a pulse on current culture and social media trends.
• Experience in journalism or editorial is ideal.
