Summary: The Critical Risk Coordinator performs a wide variety of technical and office administrative compliance support functions, including providing information and assistance to staff; updating regulatory requirements, maintains risk management records, and researches and compiles a variety of reports. Performs special projects for and provides responsible and complex technical and administrative support for the Deposit Operations division.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned

  • Maintain compliance with various regulatory requirements, included, but not limited to the following regulations: BSA-AML-REG CC-REG D-REG O-REG E-GLBA-Privacy as well as others.
  • Understands the purpose of established controls and monitoring and their impact on the bank.
  • Work directly with Operations management, Retail, I.T., Compliance and Risk Oversight to coordinate controls and monitoring, as well as to ensure proper required documentation for our customers is obtained and maintained for the proper length of time to allow the bank to support the deposit accounts.
  • Leads department self-assessment initiatives to determine compliance to bank policies as well as federal regulations. Work with management to develop corrective action plans for identified non-conformances.
  • Manages department critical maintenance reviews and compliance programs and oversees collection of industry reports and trends to proactively identify new areas of risk and compliance and recommend course of action to management.
  • Create and generate regular and ad hoc reports for management based on needs. Use reports to recommend policy/procedure changes in order to reduce or eliminate operational risk in both the Electronic Services and Deposit Operations areas
  • Maintain strong intra-departmental relationships based on product or service cross-over, such as Retail.
  • Other tasks as assigned by management. May include daily or routine functions related to critical risks within the departments, including requests that are submitted by state and federal agencies as well as the courts and/or handling annual escheatment process to ensure security and compliance.
  • Maintains Deposit Operations' and Electronic Services' compliance monitoring and control programs for the following regulations: BSA-AML-REG CC-REG D-REG O-REG E-GLBA-Privacy as well as others.
  • Attends relevant webinars and training to maintain current procedures to meet agency requirements.
  • Performs daily review of CIP exceptions and notifies Retail and Lending of these exceptions. Takes steps to work with departments to update information and / or close accounts when warranted.
  • Performs regular review of new consumer and business account documentation as well as role maintenance requests.
  • Manages the process regular review of critical account and customer maintenances as outlined in the Bank's Critical Account and Customer Maintenance Matrix for both Deposit Operations and Electronic Services. Example of critical review items include but are not limited to ACH origination limits, wire transfer monitoring, online account opening decisions, minor account and interest rate changes.
  • Performs Missing TIN review and follow-up
  • Annually completes department Compliance Testing and works with Risk Oversight to ensure that controls and testing are appropriate and affective.
  • Annually reviews all department Compliance controls, processes and procedures to validate that they are in alignment with current laws and regulations, as well as bank systems, policies, procedures, products, services, etc.
  • Leads department compliance training and overview processes.
  • Works with Supervisor to compile and present requested documentation for audits and examinations.
  • Works with Supervisor and Risk Oversight to provide additional departmental compliance trading where warranted.
  • Completes all yearly compliance training and testing and complies with bank, federal, and state regulations. Complies with Bank Policies and Procedures. Adheres to departmental and bank-wide service standards.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Certifications, Licenses and/or registrations: Banking Compliance Experience


Computer Skills: All MS Office / computer proficiency, especially Excel (Advanced skill preferred), Data Analytics
