Operations Manager (Senior Project Manager)

Summary:

EPI Painting is seeking a dynamic Operations Manager with expertise in Commercial Painting Project Management and Estimating to join our team and spearhead our operational endeavors. In this pivotal role, you'll oversee and optimize all operational functions while representing the company externally. Internally, you'll enhance procedures, systems, and principles to elevate operational performance. The ideal candidate will excel in supervisory responsibilities, ensuring projects meet established goals for quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

As our Operations Manager, What You Will Do:

• Establish a safety & people-first culture within the project team.
• Mentor, coach, and develop all team members to achieve excellence.
• Ensure complete bid & cost evaluation for each project, leveraging experience to look beyond the information provided.
• Establish and maintain positive and effective relationships with customers, project teams, architects, engineers, vendor representatives, etc.
• Experience in responding to RFPs and delivering formal presentations for projects.
• Conduct job site visits to review existing conditions, partnering with Operations & Field Management for input.
• Develop a preconstruction meeting schedule and monitor progress.
• Present job cost, scheduling updates, and budget updates at regular intervals.
• Review all project documents for completeness & accuracy.
• Develop creative & innovative approaches and solutions on a project-by-project basis.
• Ability to identify, adapt, and resolve complex issues.
• Meet goals and metrics set forth for project success.
• Lead, manage & motivate project teams during all phases of the project lifecycle.
• Identify areas of improvement and propose corrective actions to meet challenges and leverage growth opportunities.
• Make sure jobs are running on schedule while maintaining high quality.

What You Need for this Position:

• Leadership skills to effectively manage and lead project teams.
• Advanced awareness of Construction Site Safety Expectations.
• High level of fluency in reading plans, specifications & related documents.
• Competency with software such as Planswift, Pro Cor, BuildingConnected, Plan Grid, and MS Office Suite.
• Foster Cooperation among all employees in the field & office.
• Exhibit effective listening & communication skills, actively seeking and receiving feedback in a non-defensive manner.
• Strategic thinking & planning to ensure project success.
• Strong ability to track and read profit indicators and financials.
• Ability to handle challenges and stressors in a productive, positive manner.
• Professional Push Back when needed.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 5-10 years of experience in commercial construction.
• Ability to recruit subcontractors and possess high social intelligence.
