Position Description: 

Performs a variety of financial/accounting assignments necessary to produce daily and monthly financial reports, including reconciliation and monitoring of assigned general ledger accounts for Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona (GCNA) and its affiliated entities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports period-end close activities, ensuring close deadlines are met.
  • Reviews and researches discrepancies in general ledger accounts and escalates issues as needed.
  • Assists in recording and reconciling company credit card activity and team member reimbursement transactions.
  • Partners with internal departments to provide information timely and accurately.
  • Serves as administrator of third-party systems such as expense reimbursement and company credit cards.
  • Responsible for the preparation of month-end journal entries in the general ledger.
  • Responsible for reconciling assigned balance sheet accounts.
  • Responsible for Accounts Receivable and invoicing activities.
  • Records fixed asset and leasing activity in accordance with accounting standards.
  • Maintains fixed asset listing and reconciliation to the general ledger.
  • Responsible for positive pay activities, processing stop payments, and check voids.
  • Prepares reports as requested by management. 
  • Assists with preparation of requested audit schedules and supporting documentation.

  • Performs other related duties, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or another related field.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years’ of experience in finance and accounting.
  • Proven ability to be analytical and to understand reasonability of transactions.
  • Prior work experience using an automated general ledger accounting system (ERP experience preferred).
  • Must have knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and well organized.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to speak and read English proficiently.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while still delivering high quality results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Strong MS Office skills, specifically Excel.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable for position.
