We Require

  • Three years of work experience in helping individuals overcome barriers to employment, including two years in a supervisory capacity

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Work, Human Resources, or a closely related field

  • A combination of post-secondary education andjob-related experience may substitute for theminimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis.

Job Contributions

  • Lead teams for high-level performance through goal setting, guidance, evaluation, and development to meet program goals and performance requirements

  • Work closely with various East Valley municipalities in order to provide workforce services, to both jobseekers and employers, in community centers and libraries

  • Lead a team in coordinating and implementing job fairs and other targeted workforce efforts, with a focus on in-demand industries and outcomes, at several workforce partnership sites across the East Valley

  • Stay up to date on WIOA regulations and directives to ensure services are delivered according to WIOA regulations, federal and state guidance, division policies, and procedures

  • Oversee programmatic activities, including the participant training request/approval process

  • Analyze program data and implement continuous improvement procedures and practices to ensure performance standards are met. Monitor Arizona Job Connection (AJC) records to ensure customer, job seeker, and employer records are current and accurately reflect services provided

  • Manage program budgets, including obligations and expenditures of WIOA-funded training, which can include On-The-Job Training, Work Experience, and Individual Training Accounts (ITAs)

  • Develop partnerships with community and business organizations to expand opportunities available to participants and leverage resources

  • Attend ARIZONA@WORK - Maricopa County Workforce Development Board meetings and workgroups

  • Provide integrated and collaborative approaches to problem-solving, which result in outcome-oriented services to clients and communities

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed in various environments, including ARIZONA@WORK-Maricopa County Career Centers, non-profit organizations, jails, and detention centers. This position will conduct community outreach and participate in career, education, and business engagement events in various neighborhoods and indoor and outdoor settings

  • Requires travel to and from job-related locations during a scheduled workday, subject to County policies regarding the use of County vehicles or private vehicles used on County business

  • Evening and weekend work as needed to meet program requirements.The position may be periodically reassigned to various work locations based on business needs

  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain an Arizona Department of Public Safety Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card

  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain security clearance for Justice related locations at the time of hire
