We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Special Education Teacher to join our team in Vestaburg, MI. Contract Details:

  • Hours: 7:30am-3:10pm
  • Days: Monday-Friday

Caseload Details:

  • Number of Kiddos: 10-15 (Maximum 25)
  • Age Range: Middle School
  • Number of Buildings: One

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students based on their unique needs and goals.
  • Provide differentiated instruction and support to students with special needs, ensuring their academic, social, and emotional growth.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and other specialists to create inclusive learning environments and promote the integration of students with special needs.
  • Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies, accommodations, and modifications to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Assess student progress and monitor their performance, providing timely feedback and implementing interventions as necessary.
  • Establish positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, fostering a collaborative and supportive educational community.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, attendance, and IEP documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Michigan teaching certification with Special Education endorsement.
  • Experience working with middle school students with special needs.
  • Knowledge of special education laws, best practices, and evidence-based instructional strategies.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for students.
