We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Production Scheduler to join our dynamic team in a Lean Manufacturing environment. The Production Scheduler plays a critical role in optimizing production efficiency and ensuring on-time delivery of products to our customers. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and managing production schedules, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and continuously improving our production processes.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Scheduling: Develop, maintain, and communicate production schedules that align with customer demand, inventory targets, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Work Order Management: Create and manage work orders, ensuring all materials, equipment, and resources are available for each production run.
  • Capacity Planning: Evaluate production capacity and adjust schedules as needed to balance demand, ensuring efficient resource utilization.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with production teams, supply chain, and quality control to coordinate and prioritize production activities, resolving any scheduling conflicts.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement, including reducing lead times, minimizing waste, and optimizing production flow.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to support production while minimizing excess inventory and carrying costs.
  • Performance Metrics: Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production scheduling, highlighting areas for improvement.
  • Communication: Facilitate clear communication regarding schedule changes and updates, both internally and with external partners.
  • Production Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production schedules, including changes, delays, and issues, and communicate updates to relevant teams.
  • Lead Time Reduction: Identify and implement strategies to reduce lead times and improve order fulfillment.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 4 years' proven experience in production scheduling within a Lean Manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in production scheduling software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

 

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification is a plus.
  • Experience with SIOP (sales, inventory, operations, and planning) processes.
  • Knowledge of production and material planning techniques.
