Title: Applications Analyst

Department: Information Technology

Reports to: Application Development and Support Manager

FLSA: Non-exempt

Job Grade: 11

Job Purpose: Manages the quality control program throughout the product development lifecycle providing testing and systems expertise in order to facilitate the successful delivery of new and enhanced products and services. Serves as the centralized point of maintenance and communication in support of the document imaging and loan origination systems. Provides initial support and triage helpdesk application issues.

Essential Job Results:

JOB SPECIFIC RESULTS

  1. Primary point of contact for employee support and for vendor management when troubleshooting on applications systems. Works closely with Risk Management to ensure compliance and risk issues related to projects and new development that are implemented.
  2. Performs initial review of application helpdesk tickets and routes helpdesk tickets to appropriate internal resource or opens ticket with vendor if needed. Manages resolution with both vendors and internal staff. Ensures SLAs along with issue classification are managed.
  3. Performs systems administration for loan origination system and document imaging system to include user configuration, setup, workflow, automation, and rate configurations.
  4. Manages the product roadmap and deployment strategy for the applications assigned.
  5. Partners with Enterprise Systems Program Manager as an IT liaison and works with project team and coordinates appropriate IT resources as needed. Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to establish system goals and requirements for upgrades and new functionality of applications.
  6. Serves as a conduit between Program and Project Management and other departments within the Credit Union when supporting projects in the areas of testing and business requirements
  7. Translates technical specifications into clear non-technical requirements allowing business requirements to be understood by all stakeholders.
  8. Serves as product owner and system admin for specific software applications as needed.
  9. Ensures quality assurance best practices are implemented by collaborating with business process owners and IT to develop test cases and plans and schedule testing utilizing resources from impacted areas. Works closely with the development team to ensure quality controls are met as part of the software development lifecycle.
  10. Recommends technical, process, and behavioral solutions to problems based upon business requirements. These solutions should reduce costs, drive efficiency, improve member experience, or coincide with the Credit Unions strategic plan.
  11. Manages relationships with service providers when outsourcing services or procuring technical solutions to ensure the deliverables achieve desired goals and objectives. Maintains system expertise on these systems for the Credit Unions IT function. As necessary will play the role of product owner for certain critical systems.
  12. Writes and disseminates test plans and project documents, including procedures, proposals, progress reports and presentations.
  13. Develops and presents workflow diagrams, process maps, and recommendations identifying current and future state for stakeholders, directors, and Senior Staff. Utilizes communication tools to update stakeholders, directors, and Senior Staff on current project status, project roadblocks, and present clear options for management decision-making.
  14. Works with HR to facilitate training plans and communicate to all impacted areas well in advance of changes being implemented.

Engages in problem resolution by clarifying the member and/or employee issues; determining the cause of the problem; selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the problem; expediting correction or adjustment; following up to ensure resolution; and keeping the supervisor informed of problems and solutions.
  3. Complies with UKFCU policies and procedures by enforcing and adhering to internal UKFCU procedures and board-established policies.
  4. Complies with federal, state and local regulations and legal requirements by enforcing and adhering to requirements.
  5. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by maintaining an awareness of competitors rates and terms, industry trends and technology; attending staff meetings; identifying opportunities to attend seminars that enhance skills and maintain knowledge of new products that could assist in improving operational effectiveness; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; and participating in professional societies.
  6. Contributes to a team effort by accomplishing corporate and individual goals and other related results as needed.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors degree in business or related field, or equivalent related work experience.
  • 3-5 years of similar or related experience in an equivalent role.
  • Familiar with loan origination systems, imaging and archiving, and core systems processing.
  • Experience with Meridian Link, Synergy, and Episys preferred.
  • Advanced PC and general computer experience including PowerPoint, Excel and Visio.
  • Ability to communicate with others individually and in groups, fielding questions, responding to complaints and negotiating to desired outcomes.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions while dealing with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to understand business practices to identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Ability to complete assigned project tasks within established schedule.
  • Ability to travel to branch locations to facilitate project activities
  • Ability to write reports, correspondence, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Previous financial institution experience preferred.
