About the Position:

As a member of Product Development organization at Cologix, you will be part of a talented group, dedicated to designing, building, and delivering a best-in-class customer portal and network exchange platform, which will provide the next-generation of data center asset management, cloud connection, and Meet-Me-Room (MMR) services to our customers. Working together, your team of cross-functional Engineers will turn customer feedback, competitive intelligence, and creative ideas into products and features that are open, accessible, completely transparent, highly efficient, wildly scalable, and incredibly effective. Collectively, you will be responsible for delivering a platform that is, to our customers, valuable, intuitive, and competitive. This is a top priority of the business, and as such, you will be expected to act as a customer advocate, ensuring that this is the solution that our customers both want and need.


For this team, we need a Front-End UX/UI Engineer who is motivated to combine the art of design with the art of programming.

What you do daily:

  • Define the end-to-end user experience (UX), mock-up the layout and functions needed to bring that experience to life, and work with a team to build those elements into web-based user interface (UI) - all using input from the product, field, and development teams
  • Create User Interface layouts, designs, prototypes, mockups, and wireframes for applications, products, and/or services. Analyze user research data to evaluate designs and performance of existing user interfaces
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UX/UI designs
  • Translate webpage designs into functional, reusable, standards-based HTML and CSS
  • Work with a team to develop new user-facing features
  • Constantly iterate and improve the user experience for the product's front-end
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to ensure design specifications are feasible, scalable, and executed to a high standard
  • Assist the team in all stages of software development, including product development plans, design, testing, and delivery
  • Help in the evaluation of 3rd party software solutions which could enhance the UX or UI

What makes you a good fit: (Qualifications)

  • 7+ years of experience designing and developing web-based user interfaces
  • Strong experience with the Adobe Creative Cloud software
  • Strong experience translating web designs into function HTML/CSS
  • Experience with web design tools like Axure, Figma, Amina, or related software
  • Experience working with a front-end frameworks like Angular and React
  • Experience in at least one modern dynamic programming language (JSP, JavaScript, Python)
  • An available online portfolio with solid examples of work highlighting skillsets
  • Familiarity with user interface patterns for web
  • Familiarity with technical aspects of UX across varied web and mobile platforms
  • Understanding of Git (Bitbucket and GitLab)
  • Experience with software development best practices (SDLC, code reviews, SCM, build processes, testing, deployment, release and change management)
  • Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around these challenges
  • Cloud services experience preferred
  • Ability to work efficiently to minimize technical debt that will need to be addressed in the future
  • Constant desire for innovation, balanced with business needs and customer product user expectations

Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience. This position will also be eligible for an annual bonus.

Salary Range
$116,000-$121,000 USD
