The Opportunity

Our location in Abbott Park, IL, currently has an opportunity for a Tax Manager. The Tax Manager will be responsible for state and local tax matters with heavy focus on state income tax reporting and compliance matters, as well as identifying transactions that have tax ramifications.

What You’ll Work On

• Must have the ability to research tax issues and be sound in interpreting and applying the tax law, regulations, and cases to specific transactions and factual situations.

• Preparation of complex state income tax returns.  Preparation and review of unitary calculations, state apportionment, credits and incentives, estimate and extension payments.

• Review of complex state returns and projects as directed by Tax Manager/Senior Tax Manager.

• Assist in the preparation of the tax provision, analysis of tax accounts and reserves, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. This includes some knowledge of FAS 109 tax accounting and other necessary FASB pronouncements, as well as internal control issues.

• Manage and/or assist with responding to IRS/State audit information requests on behalf of Abbott.

• Interacts with personnel throughout the tax and finance organization.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Required

• Bachelors in Accounting or Finance required

• 6+ Years related experience beyond the degree or Masters plus related experience

Preferred

• Public Accounting or Fortune 500 Corporate Tax experience preferred

The base pay for this position is $95,000.00 – $190,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
