Registered Nurse - RN - Correctional Facility

CareerStaff Unlimited is looking to hire full-time, experienced Registered Nurse within the Correctional Facility in Torrington, WY. Qualified candidate will have a strong focus in patient care and have flexibility for all shifts including weekends and holidays.  In addition to our standard benefits, our Registered Nurses are preferred in a number of facilities throughout California. 

Travel Contract

Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800

JOB DETAILS FOR RN REGISTERED NURSE – CORRECTIONAL FACILITY:

1. Provide direct and indirect nursing care to inmates / patients under the direction of the supervising registered nurse and correctional facility
2. Collaborate with physicians and other health care providers; takes independent action within professional preparation and legal limits to maintain order
3. Supervise the conduct of inmates / patients to protect and maintain the safety of persons and property
4. Plan and implement nursing care including administration of medication, therapeutic agents, treatments, disease preventions and restorative measures ordered by a physician
5. Assists physicians with medical and / or minor surgical procedures
6. Perform assessments and ongoing monitoring of inmate / patient physical and psychosocial status
7. Evaluate effectiveness of nursing care and treatment regimen; collaborate with physicians and other health care providers
8. Provide clinical supervision of other nursing staff to ensure quality patient care; document nursing care in medical records
9. Ensure safety of inmates / patients by monitoring work areas for safety and cleanliness
10. Administer first aid in emergencies

CREDENTIALS REQUIRED FOR THE RN REGISTERED NURSE:

1. Valid Registered Nurse – RN License
2. 1 year of RN experience within the last 2 years
3. Must be eligible to work in the United States
4. BLS (Basic Life Support) issued American Heart Association or American Red Cross
