Job Description

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead all aspects of compliance with established food safety and quality protocols, standards, and regulations; including product specification, GMP’s, HACCP, FSMA, and lot traceability.
  • Acts as Food Safety Liaison for third party audits; regulatory and customer inspections during site visits.
  • Participates in product recalls.  Maintains procedures and documentation for product recalls and tracking, mock recalls, and trace back exercises.
  • Help with customer requests for Food Safety Information and issues.
  • Continue to strengthen a company culture focused on food safety and quality.
  • Drive continuous improvement, driven by research and collaboration within the industry, ensuring best practices are identified and implemented within the company.
  • Provide direct leadership to the food safety teams, while overseeing the company programs.
  • Develop HACCP standards throughout the Operating location(s).
  • Lead team of professionals, ensuring proper documentation and an organized filing system.
  • Oversee/Conduct periodic internal reviews or audits to ensure compliance procedures are followed.
  • Keeping operation in compliance each season and assisting with the Organic Program.
  • Participate in the maintenance of customer portals and customer requirements.
  • Assure and participate in insuring supplier compliance with the companies Food Safety requirements, both domestic and foreign.
  • Conduct Team meetings and present current and new Food Safety information.
  • Foreign Suppliers Verification Plan:  Provide training, guidance and monitoring as well as hands-on participation
  • FSMA Hazard Analysis and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), insure understanding and provide team training.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Agricultural Science, Microbiology, related science program, or equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • Hold relevant certifications in HACCP, FSVP, Produce Safety, PCQI, and Primus GFS.
  • Specialized knowledge in FSMA.
  • Familiarity with CFIA requirements.
  • Exhibit proficiency in document management systems, including Azzule, ReposiTrak, and Food Logiq.
  • Exhibit proficiency in Famous Software.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
