DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Duties for this position include using AutoCAD to design mechanical systems that conform to all standards, codes, and requirements. You prepare construction drawings and load the calculations, details, schedules, sections, and style formatted specifications for complete mechanical systems.

You also investigate and determine the condition of mechanical systems and report the recommended course of action based on these investigations. In addition, you oversee the inspection of primary mechanical construction for compliance with contract specifications and federal, state, and local codes.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:15 PM, Monday to Friday, with a 45-minute lunch.
    • May change based on operational needs
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to two (2) days a week. Telework schedule is Monday and Friday, and you report to the office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Annville.
  • Travel and overtime as needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Mechanical Engineer 1; or
  • Two years of professional mechanical engineering experience which required work on any structural mechanical system, and a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering; or
  • Two years of professional mechanical engineering experience which required work on any structural mechanical system, and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.

Special Requirement:
  • This position requires possession of a valid Class C Driver's License that is not currently under suspension.

Other Requirements:

  • You must pass a favorable National Crime Information Center (NCIC) screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
