Job Description
Aegis has partnered with an industrial company in Warsaw, IN. We are looking for a "go getter" that is hungry and wants to bring in new business.
Compensation: Salary - up to $80K + performance-based bonuses twice a year + Benefits + Gas/mileage reimbursement to start then company car after 6-12 months.
Schedule: Typically, 8A-5P M-F but hours could vary by need.
Job Summary
The Account Manager creates and maintains ongoing sales to customers. Products sold are industrial commodities used by customers in the production of their products. Typical industrial commodities include steel, aluminum, plastics, castings, fabricated parts, assemblies, and combinations of these items. The Account Manager is the lead employee in initiating the sale and in the procurement of the items required to complete the sale. They are responsible for continuing to sell to customers and expand/develop those relationships.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate as the primary point of contact for both customers and the suppliers providing the products and services required to satisfy customer needs.
- Understand customer needs by interacting with the customer ownership, management, purchasing, engineering, and production as needed.
- Know the capabilities of all companies and suppliers within the network and employ this knowledge to increase sales.
- Help customers increase their sales when possible.
- Assist customers to reduce their costs whenever possible in purchasing and manufacturing.
Sales/Account Management Functions:
- Prospect and generate leads for potential new business/customers.
- Identify opportunities to work with both new and existing customers to provide various products and services.
- Develop plans to provide samples of desired commodities/services, based on customer needs.
- Ongoing customer interface/support with existing customers.
- Develop forecasts of product sales for the customer to aid in an efficient procurement process.
- Participate in customer order review and acceptance – Pricing/Timing/Quality Requirements
- Resolve discrepancies and issues between customers, and suppliers as needed.
Administration
- Review completed margin sheets for accuracy.
- Complete monthly expense reports by the 10th of every month.
- Review all costing information to ensure accuracy on purchase orders.
- Maintain spreadsheets for parts/products if applicable and communicate with front office.
- Maintain forecasts and update to reflect customers’ needs.
Desirable Requirements
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of 3 years of customer relationship management
- Ability to negotiate as needed, identify and resolve challenges, remove barriers, and effectively communicate issues with involved parties.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience selling industrial commodities and/or have the ability to quickly learn about industrial commodities.
- Industrial purchasing and supply chain knowledge.
