- Assists in the management in the day-to-day operations on a Steel Mill Services site
- Directs the work team to maintain production requirements
- Collaborates with a variety of operational and staff personnel to implement processes and ensure adherence to procedures
- Trains, supports, schedules and coordinates a working team of employees
- Participates in various site audits (Safety, Environmental, Quality, etc.)
- Conducts monthly meetings and communicates company information.
- Utilizes systems and other sources to report on operational metrics
- Supports the safety program by providing training, enforcing safety regulations and administering corporate safety protocols
- Works toward a general understanding and working knowledge of equipment used on a Steel Mill site
- Works with crews to ensure accuracy of maintenance check sheets and timely reporting/repairing of equipment needs
- Utilizes procedures to prevent product, service, and process non-conformances
- Assists with the documentation of quality systems procedures and policies
- Analyzes production data and financial data to assist Management in developing budgets, and staffing, capital expenditure and business plans
- Assists manager in troubleshooting problems
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Associates degree in industrial management or related field
- General knowledge of applicable safety and environmental regulations and the ability to implement the appropriate related programs and controls
- Ability to think strategically and collaborate on problem solving
- Working knowledge of mobile and plant equipment
- Excellent computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft office products and Oracle (preferred)
- Mechanical aptitude
- Basic knowledge of quality control procedures
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to relocate a plus
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods
- Be able to push, pull and/or pry occasionally
- Good visual acuity, depth perception and eye-hand coordination
- Be able to detect differences between sounds that vary in pitch and loudness
- Operate a motor vehicle
- Work in an environment with noise and temperature variations
