Spang Power Electronics, a division of Spang & Company, has an excellent career opportunity for a Production Supervisor based in Sandy Lake, PA. This position will be responsible for maintaining departmental manufacturing operations with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have mechanical and electrical or electronic experience.

Spang Power Electronics is a premier provider of high-quality power solutions and proprietary technology for the world’s most critical industries.  We design and manufacture systems and products for industrial control applications all over the world, specializing in SCR Power Controllers, custom Transformers, and AC/DC Power Systems. Spang Power Electronics has locations in Mentor, OH, Sandy Lake, PA, and Xiamen, China.

Major Responsibilities

  • Monitor production processes and give direction to hourly employees.
  • Enforce departmental and plant safety rules by coordinating, documenting, and maintaining programs on job safety and training.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with the Company’s ISO 9001 quality program.
  • Troubleshoot production-related issues.
  • Function as liaison between Manufacturing and Engineering to resolve design-related production issues.
  • Coordinate machine and equipment repairs and maintenance.
  • Create work schedules and personnel assignments and record shift production.
  • Conduct employee training to improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Monitor employee performance and attendance by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Math, Computer Science, Engineering, or another STEM discipline. 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience is required, preferably in a union environment. Experience reading electrical schematics, and mechanical and assembly drawings is essential.
