Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Credit and Collections Analyst to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing customer credit accounts, assessing creditworthiness, and ensuring timely collections. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining a healthy cash flow and minimizing credit risks for the organization.
Responsibilities:
Credit Assessment:
- Evaluate the creditworthiness of new and existing customers.
- Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data to make informed credit decisions.
- Establish credit limits based on the assessment of each customer's financial stability.
Collections Management:
- Monitor and manage customer accounts receivables to ensure timely payments.
- Contact customers regarding overdue payments and negotiate payment plans when necessary.
- Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to address billing issues and resolve customer disputes.
Risk Mitigation:
- Identify potential credit risks and propose strategies to mitigate them.
- Regularly review and update credit policies and procedures to align with industry standards and company goals.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer interactions and collection efforts.
- Generate and analyze reports on credit and collections performance for management review.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Credit and Collections Analyst or in a similar financial role.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and make sound credit decisions.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in using financial software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Knowledge of credit laws and regulations.
