Shipping Clerk

JOB SUMMARY: SHIPPING CLERK • 1ST SHIFT • FULL TIME

Under general supervision and using industry recognized safety procedures, employee will ensure customers receive accurate orders in a timely manner. Shipping Clerks monitor merchandise leaving Parker Fabrication and ensure all related documents, such as shipping documents, invoices, and purchase orders, are in order. Shipping Clerks ensure products are properly packed and organized for safe shipment.

EXPERIENCE:

1. One (1) year of related manufacturing experience preferred.
2. Proven experience with manufacturing as may be tested during application process
3. Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
4. Professional Certifications related to manufacturing, production, safety, and quality a plus

SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Proficient in English
• Ability to determine the appropriate equipment, method, tooling, and settings to be used for each production job
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing dynamics
• Ability to recognize standard metals and familiarity working with steel, stainless steel, aluminum, etc.
• Ability to creatively consider processes and recommend improvements to bolster efficiency
• Ability to work within the confines of a standard employee handbook regarding attendance, discipline, off-work conduct
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Ability to operate lift assist equipment such as forklifts, hoists, and cranes
• Ability to manage time effectively and multitask when required with a strong attention to detail

1. Shipping Clerks ensure customers receive accurate orders in a timely manner.

• Monitor merchandise leaving the facility
• Ensure all related documents, such as packing-list, commercial-invoices, and purchase orders, are in order.
• Ensure products are properly packed and organized for safe shipment.
• Responsible for cleaning, organizing, and labeling products in the facility.

2. React to daily Sales-Order schedule and Job-Boss Shipping Schedule

• Prepare and print Packing-Lists, corresponding to shipping needs
• Prepares shipments for postal or LTL deliveries; determines most economical and efficient shipping method; selects appropriate shipping container; packs items to ensure safe delivery.
• Prepares bills of lading; checks items to be shipped against work-orders/sales-orders to ascertain that quantities, destination, and routing are correct.
• Contacts carrier’s and schedules shipping for each shipment

3. Operates forklifts in loading and unloading supplies and equipment

• May operate company vehicle to deliver shipments
• May assist in routine maintenance of equipment/tools in the shipping area.

4. Assists with Paint-Line needs (loading/unloading the line, masking, cleaning, etc.)

• Surfox Machine (Production)
• Shipping Assembly Operation -(Production)

5. Determining & executing the best method to properly clean our product (power-wash, Typhoon Machine, Thinner, etc.)

• Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality and safety improvement objectives.
