The Airport Survey Mapping (ASM) team on the NISC IV contract is an Aeronautical Information team supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). We are seeking a highly motivated individual to assist the ASM Team as well as the FAA in creating Aeronautical Charts. The charts are to support the National Airspace System (NAS). The Chart Supplement and Terminal Procedures publications are for use by pilot and air traffic controllers on a 56-day charting cycle.

Responsibilities will be:

  • Learning Aeronautical Information
  • Analyzing the National Flight Data Digest (NFDD)
  • Analyzing and charting the Airport Chart Change documents
  • Evaluating and processing incoming aeronautical and/or base/topographic source data. Applying charting specifications in the update of aeronautical charts.
  • Revising aeronautical charts following established procedures and guidelines.
  • Contacting/interacting with FAA Aeronautical Information Services (AJV-A) cartographers / aeronautical information specialists, and other FAA mapping / charting teams and organizations in an effort to acquire source / documentation, rectify discrepancies in air navigation data, and/or in response to inquiries/special requests.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aeronautical Information, Geography or related discipline from an accredited College or University
  • 2- 5 years of experience is required
  • Knowledge in Bentley Systems MicroStation Open Cities
  • Working knowledge and experience with CAD Software
  • Experience with E.S.R.I Geographic Information System
  • Working knowledge with Python
  • ESRI Database Management
  • Must have the ability to obtain an interim Public Trust security clearance prior to your start date with Leidos.
    • Continued employment is conditional upon the ability to obtain and maintain a final Public Trust security clearance.

Pay Range:Pay Range $49,400.00 - $89,300.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
