Position Details

SUMMARY

We are searching for a seasoned Senior Systems Architect/Engineer with extensive virtualization systems design and systems administration knowledge. Under general direction, plans and evaluates complex existing server network infrastructure and provides highly skilled technical assistance in support and maintenance of corporate server architecture in multiple Data Centers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plans and manages complex infrastructure related projects or phases of large projects including estimating resource needs and planning, scheduling, assigning, and coordinating staff to meet or exceed established target dates.
  • Develops technical standards, designs, and implements server systems, Hyper-V and clustered environments, storage, backup, high availability, and related infrastructure needs for First Services and First Banks application systems. Maintains and coordinates all infrastructure upgrades, including patching and system updates which may involve after hours' schedules.
  • Provides technical leadership and guidance to Information Systems Application Managers and technical implementation teams. Works on the most complex technical infrastructure projects for the bank.
  • Ensures all applications of technology conform to corporate standard implementations and meet business applications' BIA. The designs include appropriate high availability, backup and disaster recovery procedures, applicable support documentation, and follow the EPMO project methodology process.
  • Contributes to Branch Technology Operations through branch server development and support.
  • Competent in cloud design and support to deliver IT solutions which ensure efficient data storage and adherence to security policies. High familiarity with Microsoft Azure preferred.
  • Assists the Systems Support Manager and others in the organization in formulating objectives, policies and procedures to ensure all technical implementations and support are of the highest quality and meet the needs of the business unit(s) being served.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert associated with content, processes, and procedures associated with server architecture.
  • Manages all Hyper-V Applies functional knowledge to the design and customization of workflow systems that provide seamless integration for client/server applications.
  • Assists the Systems Support Manager in the development of the Technology Services operating budget, Capacity plan, and Technology Strategic Plan.
  • Represents Technology Services in various corporation-wide cross-functional initiatives.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides mentoring and oversight of Systems Engineers and others as part of the Server Support Group. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, assessing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work.

What Do You Need for this Position?
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university, required
  • Minimum of least eight (8) years in-depth experience and/or training in Server Operating System design and implementation, required
  • Should hold one or more major industry relevant engineering certifications as well as two or more minor certifications, required
  • Proven ability to develop and manage complex projects to completion
  • Excellent hardware and software troubleshooting skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of networking environments with specific areas of high-level expertise. Broad knowledge of the banking and financial industries
