** Assistant Executive Housekeeper**

**Description**

The Assistant Executive Housekeeper is responsible for assisting the Executive Housekeeper in all management facets of the Housekeeping operation - oversees supervisors, housekeeping attendants, room attendants, upholstery workers/seamstresses, and outside contractors to ensure ultimate guest service, satisfaction, and safety. Responsible for financial performance of the department, including payroll accountability and expense forecasting. Hires, terminates and schedules in accordance to Federal, State, Local and Union regulations. Ensures secure/safe workplace using OSHA/VOSH standards.

**Responsibilities include the following:**

Supervises and directs all housekeeping personnel to maintain world class standards of cleanliness and sanitation by:

* Hiring, counseling and termination of housekeeping staff; conducting performance reviews and merit pay evaluations.

* Directly supervising Floor Supervisors, Housemen Supervisors, Project Coordinators, and Upholstery employees to ensure effective and efficient communication

* Inspecting all areas of the assigned property including guestrooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance.

* Coordinating and following up with internal departments on any necessary repairs/corrections needed - front desk, landscape, maintenance, design and outside vendors.

* Developing and maintaining a cooperative working relationship with the staff to ensure a cohesive, productive and positive workforce.

* Developing and maintaining a cooperative relationship with departments within CWF and CWHPI

Training newly hired supervisors and line employees; meeting with supervisors regularly to refine training so that standards are improved or maintained.

* Conducting daily morning meetings with employees to obtain feedback and generate action plans to improve deficiencies

Assists Executive Housekeeper in all department matters:

* Originating purchase orders/requisitions; ensures that expenditures flex appropriately with forecasted rooms revenue

* Monitoring and maintaining par levels of inventory supplies, linens and equipment

* Developing employee schedules and daily work assignments, performing accurate and efficient timekeeping for the housekeeping staff so that labor is managed within budgetary constraints and also flexes with forecasted rooms occupancy/revenues

* Monitoring adherence to budgets, new standards, policies/procedures, and operations

* Plans in order to improve the departments efficiency and ultimately guest service/satisfaction

* Effectively implementing/monitoring hotel lost and found program

* Acting in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper with superior professionalism

* Monitors and maintains world class levels of guest satisfaction;

* Effectively communicating with guests on all housekeeping related issues as needed

* Maintaining an effective working relationship with the front office to ensure quality guest service through superior interdepartmental cooperation and coordination

* Writing off revenue within limits in order to ensure guests satisfaction and return

**REQUIREMENTS:**

* Demonstrated ability to improve guest comfort, service and standards

* Proficiency in maintaining world-class standards by holding employees accountable for the same standards

* Demonstrated organizational skills

* Demonstrated ability to analyze, observe and problem solve

* Demonstrated experience in a leadership role where problem solving, handling conflicts, conducting appraisals, counseling/coaching employees and working with a team were required

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* High school diploma or GED

* Two years supervisory experience

* Training experience

* Demonstrated ability to perform at the highest levels of professionalism and service

* Thorough knowledge of sanitation, cleaning equipment, cleaning products and their proper use

* Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines

* Ability to exercise discretion, tact and courtesy while working in situations of extreme stress

* Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays and nights

* Ability to perform a variety of physical tasks

**Preferred:**

* Two years previous supervisory experience in hotel housekeeping or other operations departments; Certified Executive Housekeeper (CEH) designation

* Possess or have the ability to acquire skills necessary to prepare formal written documents, spreadsheets, and analyses using current over-the-counter and CW custom computer software applications
