We are seeking an equally passionate Field Safety Coach to help further our mission through excellent craftsmanship, customer service, and a team-focused approach.

Under the direction of the Director of Safety, the Field Safety Coach's main functions are to 1) Evaluate (seek to understand), 2) Coach/Train, 3) Report observations, coaching, and interactions, and 4) Create Resolutions. The Field Safety Coach plans, conducts, coordinates, and supports the Safety program for the field staff of Operations. The ideal candidate will live safely, be self-led, seek to understand, work as a team player, be results-driven, and 'people-centric' with a focus on servant leadership willing to contribute and drive a strong culture of employee engagement. In addition, to guarantee success in this position, the ideal candidate should exhibit strong decision-making skills with a deep understanding of Coaching, Safety and Quality, Learning, and Development functions. This position is essential to help increase the overall performance of our teams and ensure every field-based employee has the skills to achieve their safety goals.

Essential Job Functions

  • Works together with all Field Safety Coaches and Operation Training to support programs that are beyond the expectations of all relevant parties in the business.
  • Train/Coach employees on PosiGen Safety policies, procedures, and regulations in line with National, State, and City regulations.
  • Ensures that all Operations Field Staff have been trained and developed according to the minimum qualification level.
  • Perform regular on-site coaching/training with field team members to ensure training continues throughout a team member's entire tenure.
  • Identifies training and development needs within field-related positions in Operation through job analysis and regular consultation with managers and Human Resources departments.
  • Regularly monitors and evaluates safety practices in operations to ensure that staff members comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, environmental policies, and/or government regulations.
  • Supports/helps department managers and trainers solve specific training problems, either one-on-one or in groups.
  • Report progress of team member training and performance to respective Managers, Director of Safety, and HR.
  • Performs periodic Safety Site Checks to ensure training requirements and Safety standards are met.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state health and safety regulations and ensures necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines.
  • In correlation with the Director, amends and revises programs as necessary
  • Assists in the production of training materials for in-house courses.
  • Keeps up to date with developments in training and coaching by reading relevant journals, attending meetings, and attending relevant courses.

Education/Experience

  • Must have a BS/BA degree in an industry-related field, Safety-related degree or Safety Certification (Ex. CSP, SMS, ASP, CHST, STS, STSC, MSP, CSD etc.).
  • Minimum three years of solar residential/commercial safety experience preferred.
  • Three or more years of direct experience in training and development in a Solar Construction environment is a plus.
  • Two to three years of electrical experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace is preferred.
  • OSHA 500 is highly preferred, as well as current safety certifications in applicable topics including, but not limited to: fall protection, NFPA 70E, electrical safety, lock-out-tag-out, trench safety, ladder safety, and general safety.
  • First aid, CPR, and AED.
  • Thorough knowledge of all OSHA, NIOSH, NFPA, and DOT regulations and reporting requirements, and construction industry best practices.
  • This position requires 50% or more travel. Coverage area includes, but is not limited to, New Jersey, Connecticut, Philadelphia, and Massachusetts, with occasional travel to Louisiana and Mississippi. Expense reimbursement will be given for business-related travel expenses. Company Vehicle to be provided on condition of an approved Motor Vehicle Record Check.
