POSITION: Housekeeper

CATEGORY: Part Time - 7:30 am - 2:30 pm

CONTEXT:

The 93,000 square foot Mansion House is a National Historic Landmark constructed between 1861 and 1914. It is owned and operated by Oneida Community Mansion House (OCMH). OCMH is a non-profit educational organization chartered in 1987 by the New York State Board of Regents. The building houses a museum, residential apartments, overnight lodging and banquet and meeting space. The total property encompasses 200 acres including the Oneida Community Cemetery, historic gardens and grounds, and the country's first corporate golf course.

PURPOSE: This position exists to maintain the overall cleanliness of the guest rooms, museum spaces and public areas of the Mansion House.

RELATIONSHIPS: This position requires contact with other staff, residents, volunteers, and the public.

JOB DESCRIPTION: To clean, sanitize and tidy guest rooms, performing tasks such as changing and washing bedding and linens, cleaning floors, walls, windows, furniture, bathrooms and fixtures. To clean common areas and museum areas to provide the optimal guest experience. May perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience desired

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Ability to work independently and responsibly as well as part of a team.

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Must be able to bend, lift at least 30 lbs. and walk up and down multiple stairs,
    and stand for long periods.

  • Must be able to interact positively with guests and provide high quality customer service.
