Job Description

Under limited to no supervision provides direct support to production supervisor in a lean cellular manufacturing environment. Employee must perform various processes to manufacture a subassembly up to a finished product, using basic hand tools and various machinery/tooling, per manufacturing drawings, blueprints, and instructions provided by the cell. Performance will be measured by specific goals on Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Delivery. Employee should be self-motivated, showing initiative and drive to exceed performance expectations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

* Winding set-up for various parts, including adjustment and changing of dereelers, mandrels, forms, shuttles, and guides

* Use of winding machines: Atlas, Stevens, Multiple, 301, Toroid, Foil

* Perform intricate hand and machine winding per blueprint with minimum supervision.

* Regularly perform high temperature soldering, grinding, wire stripping, crimping, forming

* Complete subassemblies using blueprints, wiring diagrams and manufacturing instructions to conform to quality specifications

* Must be able to read and interpret dial and digital calipers.

* Maintain and consistently improve 5S in area of responsibility

* May use coating equipment, microscope, and hand and electric tools.

* May clean and mark surfaces to indicate measurements.

* Ability to be trained to use simple machines such as lathes, drill presses and balance machines.

* May perform other duties as assigned by management.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE

Must be able to read and understand manufacturing blueprints/drawings/schematics. Must be able to use basic hand tools; including but not limited to screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, hammers, etc... Must have good eye/hand coordination and have hand/finger dexterity. Light keyboard skills required. Ability to read and interpret company documents, such as, safety rules, operating and manufacturing instructions, and Company policy and procedure manuals is required. Ability to clearly communicate with all internal and external customers in the English language.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

* High School graduate or equivalent preferred

* 1 year of production assembly experience in a lean manufacturing environment preferred
