Lighting Maintenance Inc. (LMI) is currently seeking a journeyman Electrician for the Richmond/Petersburg area. The ideal candidate will possess 5+ years' experience providing maintenance, repairs, and installation of electrical & lighting systems and must have the ability to work within commercial and government facilities. We are seeking a proactive individual who is always alert and ready for action, rather than someone passively waiting for tasks to come their way. The ideal candidate will fully embrace their role and take complete ownership of their responsibilities, demonstrating the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • - Install, inspect, test, and repair electrical systems
  • - Collaborate with project managers to determine project requirements and timelines.
  • - Read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to effectively plan installations.
  • - Ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.
  • - Troubleshoot electrical issues using diagnostic equipment and tools.
  • - Perform routine maintenance on sports lighting systems to ensure optimal functionality.
  • - Coordinate with other tradespeople involved in the installation process.
  • - Keep accurate records of work performed including reports and documentation.

Requirements:

  • - Valid journeyman electrician license/certification is required.
  • - Proven experience working as a journeyman electrician in the sports lighting field is preferred.
  • - In-depth knowledge of electrical codes, regulations, and safety procedures applicable to sports lighting installations.
  • - Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams related to electrical systems used for sports lighting purposes.
  • - Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve electrical issues efficiently.
  • - Excellent communication skills both verbal and written; able to collaborate effectively within a team environment or independently when necessary.
  • - Physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
