Responsibilities
Location: Wichita, KS (Onsite)
Key Accountabilities:
- Work closely with Engineering for building composite test articles
- Duties include performing a variety of composite layup and/or assembly, mechanical, electromechanical, metallic, resin infusion or special manufacturing
- Construct, fabricate, assemble, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, and maintain equipment, components, devices, or systems
- Work from schematics, engineering drawings, planning papers and written or verbal instructions
- Conduct tests and report data in prescribed format
- Be flexible, able to adjust and start over as directed
- Prepare prescribed compounds and solutions
- Follow program processes, using materials, tools, products, and their related fabrication and assembly processes to build and assemble composite structures
- Work closely with engineering in support of test and coupon set-up
- Must adhere to customer specifications when building proof-of-concept articles
Qualifications
Requirements:
High School Diploma and 4+ years of related experience in aerospace composite manufacturing or related field or a 2-year Associate's Degree with 2+ of related experience in aerospace composite manufacturing or related field
Be a self-starter who can work alone, if necessary and meet a deadline
Must possess teaming skills, interpersonal social skills, strong ethics, and good work habits
Be able to lift, bend and stand for prolonged hours
Possess written and verbal skills necessary to be able to effectively work within an integrated product team environment
Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2- year Associate's Degree from Trade/Technical School
- Active DoD Clearance
- Experience with or be willing to learn machine shop type equipment (drills, saws, sanders, etc), ovens and autoclaves, overhead cranes, forklifts, and other equipment
