$18.47 to $20.32 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. North Area/Merritt Island/Sykes Creek WWTP. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and includes stand-by, overtime, and holidays as needed. Performs skilled crafts and trades work in the general maintenance and repair of the mechanical and power-driven equipment used in reclaimed water and wastewater pump stations and lift stations, including tanks, pumps, and motors.

REQUIREMENTS:High school diploma or its equivalent, as required by the Florida Water and Pollution Control Operators Association (FW&PCOA),PLUS two (2) years of experience in the repair and maintenance of mechanical and/or water/wastewater equipment. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess a valid Florida Driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must possess, or obtain within twelve (12) months of employment, a valid Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)/Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) Intermediate certification and maintain said certification during the term of employment. Must possess, or obtain within twelve (12) months of employment, a current first aid certification PLUS a current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification from an approved agency and maintain both certifications during the term of employment.Must be physically capable at all times of properly wearing and utilizing all required personal protective equipment (PPE), which may include respiratory protection. Must be able to work planned and unplanned overtime and standby and call-out duties on a rotational basis, including nights, weekends, and holidays. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
