OKO Group is seeking a Legal Counsel to join our team in our Miami office. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial self-starter mentality, be detail oriented and possess a robust work ethic. Reporting to the Company’s General Counsels, the attorney in this role will serve as a generalist, advising on all legal matters affecting the Company, with a primary focus on real estate, development, financing and contract matters.. OKO Group is a rapidly growing real estate investment firm / developer with ample room for growth within the organization if the Legal Counsel is successful.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities / Tasks:

Primary duties, responsibilities, and tasks include, but are not limited to the following:

1. Draft, negotiate, review, and advise on a variety of commercial contracts, including real estate acquisitions, joint ventures, dispositions, financing, and development documents including land purchase and sale agreements, leases, development agreements, deeds, easements, licenses, title reports and appraisals.

2. Serve as a business-minded thought partner for real estate and construction teams by answering questions and making recommendations for best practices and processes while balancing legal considerations.

3. Advise on compliance and regulatory matters.

4. Provide guidance to finance, operations, facilities, and other internal teams regarding the portfolio of contracts.

5. Handling/managing contractual disputes.

6. Work with interdisciplinary teams of in-house staff and outside consultants (including private developers, State and local regulatory entities, outside counsel, environmental consultants, architects, and others) to assist on the matters above.

7. Collaborating with management to devise efficient defense strategies.

8. Giving accurate and timely counsel to executives in a variety of legal topics.

9. Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations.

10. Deal with complex matters with multiple stakeholders and forces.

11. Maintain current knowledge of alterations in legislation.

12. Conduct your work with integrity and responsibility.

13. Other duties as designated by manager.

Minimum Qualifications

· J.D. degree

· Duly licensed to practice law in FL or NY, or otherwise able to obtain in-house license

· The ideal candidate will be a qualified lawyer with at least three year's post-qualification experience in a range of commercial and corporate matters with an ability to demonstrate sufficient experience within either development or real estate services.

· Excellent communicator and proven ability to distill complex issues into straightforward advice to the business.

· Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures.

· High degree of professional ethics and integrity

· Candidates must already have the right to work in the USA.

· Willing to work autonomously and able to demonstrate ability to prioritize workloads particularly when under pressure.

· Excellent team player

· Willingness to learn about new areas of law.
